What will you do in this job?

Boat Captains for Muskoka Cruises demonstrate a positive attitude and excellent communication skills to ensure that a high level of customer service is given to each guest.

  • Operate tour boats with the safety of all passengers as the primary focus, per Transport Canada regulations (Master Limited <60 tonnes)
  • Assist guests with any needs while on tour, including assistance on/off the boat, answering questions, and talking to passengers
  • Interact closely with our fleet maintenance team regarding mechanical issues and the effective operation of the tour boats
  • Follow Muskoka Cruises Policies with respect to passenger tracking, maintenance logs, client services, etc.
Compensation: The starting salary for this position is $30-$35/hr

  • To be certified by Transport Canada you must be 18 years of age and a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Marine First Aid required (course will be scheduled during training)
  • All employees must consent to a criminal record check

  • Have fun sailing on the rivers and lakes in beautiful Muskoka. When we’re having fun, our guests have fun too.
  • Provide an exciting tour experience in accordance with our programming standards to ensure all visitors to Muskoka have a unique, memorable, and exciting experience
  • Assist guests with any needs while on tour, including assistance on/off the boat, photograph taking, answering questions
  • Develop and deliver exciting commentaries
  • Follow Muskoka Cruises Policies with respect to passenger tracking, maintenance logs, client services, etc.
Compensation: The starting salary for this position is $25-$30/h
